I had hip replacement surgery 11/23/20 in the morning and was standingby that afternoon. I was treated like a king by Dr Yacoubian and his teamfrom start to finish and all through PT, it was a very good experience and very hands on care. I signed up with Yelp so that I could write this review. Dr. Yacoubian is amazing. I have been a patient of his for years and finally took the plunge and had total knee replacement. The first few weeks are definitely not much fun but if you stick to the program and your exercises youll be on your feet in no time. I am back to sporting activities that I love but have not been able to participate in for a very long time. There is no longer pain going up and downstairs or after sitting for long periods. Dr. Yacoubian was very attentive and accessible the day of the surgery and anytime afterwards, even giving me his cell number in case of any issues. I couldnt have been asked for a better outcome. If I need my other knee replaced in the near future you can bet Ill be going to Dr. Shahan Yacoubian!

I went through three doctors, three misdiagnosis, and four months of pain and inconvenience until I met Dr. Shahan Yacoubian.  He gets my highest recommendation.  I wound up with a partial knee reconstruction and three months later I was completely recovered with a full range of motion.Before the operation, I asked Dr. Yacoubian whether he was going to do a partial or full reconstruction and he said, I am going to have to go in and look. I do whatever is in the best interest of the patient.  I definitely have the feeling that is what he always does.  If you want to save yourself a lot time go directly to Dr. Yacoubian.

It is 6 months since my complete hip replacement by Dr. Shahan Yacoubian honestly gave me my life back. Fear of surgery, and anesthesia kept me from even making an appointment. But finally, I could not walk without the support of a cane and was never without pain, so I made the appointment. I have never been more please with a physician and a practice. All of my questions were answered completely and with understanding. EVERY single person who was part of my care both at the OSS practice and Providence St. Joseph were caring and supportive. Now, 6 moths later, I walk every day with not limp and no pain. My kids even stated that it was "weird to see Mom standing up straight and walking!" This week, I even rode a bike.Dr. Yacoubian told me at one of my first appointments that I would only say that I wish I had done this sooner once the surgery was done. He was 100% right. Don't let fear get in the way of a pain free life.

Dr. Yacoubian is excellent! Hes an excellent surgeon but hes also a good human being!  Both of my hips were bone on bone and caused excruciating pain. I could barely walk and couldnt stand up straight. This had been progressing for the past few years. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Shahan Yacoubian. He looked at my xray, said youve been suffering and I can help you!  He did just that!  I had 2 hip replacements within the past 6 months. My 1st hip was done January 28th.  I felt instant pain relief. Then covid happened!  Dr. Yacoubian did my 2nd hip April 21st at an outpatient surgery center.  Now  I had to have a nurse the 1st 48 hours when I came home. Dr. Yacoubian was always available, day and night. I always tell him he changed my life because he did!  Im now able to enjoy life. Walking, bike rides. Most of all Im able to take long showers and lotion my feet. These are the simple things many take for granted. Orthopedic Surgery Specialist also have their own physical therapy center.  However covid happened so I did home therapy. Dr. Yacoubians entire staff is amazing. I highly recommend anyone needing joint replacement to see Dr. Yacoubian.

Dr. Yacoubian was great.Very pleasant,knowledgeable and extremely good at what he does.I had my left hip replaced last October and I'm so glad I did.It feels pretty much 100% these days.Back in the gym working out,walking,bike riding etc.I even plan on snow skiing this winter.If you are thinking about a hip replacement ,I would highly recommend Dr. Shahan Yacoubian!Dave G.

I had both my knee replacement surgeries done by Dr. Shahan Yacoubian. He is the best doctor, very competent, knows what he is doing. Has the best personality and patience. I felt safe with Dr. ShahanI have been his patient for several years and have always been satisfied with the care and attention that I have received.Everyone one of the staff members are friendly and professional. Although we went to the Burbank office and 15 mins late...we were directed to the Glendale office.  We got confused with the parking but eventually found the right building.  With the stress of being very late we walked in and were greeted with a smile.  My mother was called in right away.  Anna was incredible, very professional and personable.  She made our day.  She is what all people in a customer service work place, should be like.

Im a 52 year female who was suddenly experiencing extreme left hip & leg pain for a two month period.  After an XRay & MRI confirmed a tear in my Labrum, Hamstring & Glute & that my left hip was completely bone on bone, the only course of treatment was Total Hip Replacement.  Dr. Devlyn Corrigan DO, at Exer Urgent Care in Sherman Oaks, referred me to Orthopaedic Surgery Specialists, Dr. Shahan V. Yacoubian.  Im so thankful I took his advice.  Dr. Yacoubian took the time to sit down, explain the surgery, best case / worst case scenarios, he answered all of my questions & he had a quiet confidence about him along with a warm personality.  I liked that!  I swim competitively on a Masters Swim Team (Golden Road Aquatics in Burbank), so it was important to me that my doctor be approachable & understand my short term and long term goals.  Dr. Yacoubian did all that & more!  My neighbors couldnt believe I was walking strong without any aid by week 3.  My surgery was textbook (according to the doc) & my recovery was smooth, & now, my scar is barely noticeable.  I followed his orders to the tee & I took the class at Providence St. Josephs Hospital (led by Ann Smith, RN, Ortho Program Mgr for over 20 years, there isnt anything this woman doesnt know) to know & understand how to prepare myself, my house and the aftercare I would require.  Plan your work & work your plan...read the material, & of course, listen to your Doctor.  I also attribute my incredible recovery to OSS Elite Physical Therapy (right next door to Dr. Yacoubians Office).  I felt like a Professional Athlete with the quality of care, attention & level of difficulty at each PT session.  Every session Im so impressed by Abby Merrin, DPT, her knowledge will blow your mind & attention to detail will put you at ease.  Trust me, the range of motion my hip achieved in such a short period of time...even Dr. Yacoubian took notice, its thanks to you Abby & Tatiana!!  Its a big decision & surgery is a huge deal, but should I need anything else down the road....Ill be right back here at OSS, no doubt about it.  Thanks Dr. Yacoubian & The Fantastic Staff at OSS for getting me back in the Swim of Things!  Stronger Than Yesterday....Carolyn Zderko
