Shama Shakir

Dr. Shakir is an understanding and intuitive pediatrician. She's been my children's doctor for over 12 years and counting! The ladies that work in the office are kind and funny. They add so much to the experience and treat me and my children like family. I recommend this pediatrician!

the doctor we had was very understanding and helpful ..... the staff that waited on us was very rude and short tempered...... felt like they had other things to do then deal with the patients

Shakir is the worst pediatrician I’ve ever met. Her manners are HORRIBLE. Very disrespectful. Told me I should NOT breastfeed and I was perfectly healthy. Argumentative. If enough people would call the medical board and report incidents with drs that do this or pediatricians I’m sure it would stop. I could be wrong. But I’ve done it to a family medical doctor that was clearly off her rocker in Missouri.

She had poor bedside manner. She spoke to me as if I didn’t know what to do and made comments about making sure I didn’t let him sleep with me or hold him for too long so he doesn’t “get used to that” and to make sure there was a bed waiting for him at home. When I was struggling to breast feed she had made a snarky comment about how he needs to eat or otherwise, as if the situation wasn’t stressful already. In my opinion I felt as if she cared more about making an assessment of you and how you take care of the child rather than making sure baby was okay

Use someone else if you get the choice. I saw her in the hospital as a first time mom. She talked to me as if I didn’t know what I was doing or as if I didn’t know how I was supposed to take care of my child.

Absolutely horrible would not recommend. I felt like I was getting more of a personal evaluation than medical care for my son. Told me I needed to stay home with my child, told me "we want a healthy baby not a fat one" he was 10lbs at 1 month also told me to make sure I buckle up my son in his car seat as I was leaving. Very rude and belittling. Absolutely horrible would not recommend.

We moved away from bay St. Louis. Because Poor of medical service in Hancock county as you know there is so limited service available. My children need shot record. My wife call the day before yesterday. She was told have it ready for me to pick up by 1pm yesterday. I went yesterday and I was told today. I met dr. Shakir this morning. She explain to me she can not fill out the form for me because we had move away. Which I understand. But I did not get record from her. I went back again. The office lady refuse to get me the record. I have to go back to my office and show her what I got this morning. She finally gave me the shot record. It took 3 phone calls. 4 trips to her office to get business done. I understand their time is $$$ my time is worthless to them. They just make me feel like I have owe them ten million $$
