My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. This was her first visit after being discharged from the hospital. She looked forward to finding out the plan of treatment for her condition. We arrived 10 minutes late. The front desk lady named Gladys Enriquez processed my mom's insurance paperwork. It ended up taking the next 50 minutes. Gladys told my mom that she was an hour late and that she was NOT going to be seen by Dr. Singh. She added that the next appointment was coming up, while my mom and I were the only two visitors in the office. I tried to explain to her that we were only 10 minutes late and that my mom really looked forward to having a treatment plan in place for her, considering she is in stage 4. Gladys did not take into consideration the emotion and the challenges that my mom and our family had to deal with upon learning about my mom's condition. She did not show any compassion nor empathy for my mom as a patient. My mom and I were very disappointed with the way we were treated by Gladys. She could have been more professional, understanding, and accommodating to my mom. In the end, my mom did not get a chance to see Dr. Singh.
