I have been referring to Gentiva Hospice for years and have not been disappointed. The care and attention to detail has been amazing. They provide such wonderful care to families!
Gentiva Hospice, Franklin Office, in Williamson County, Tn. is the absolute BEST!! My mother is currently a hospice patient and the love & care she has been given is incredible. As is usually the case, it starts from the top down. Jess, the Director, truly cares about her team and the patients, and goes out of her way to show it. It takes a special kind of person to work in hospice and we have the dream team of Jamie, Mara, Pastor Joe, and Callie. In what can be a difficult and stressful time of life, these people bring light and joy. The support, love and kindness that this entire team has given us has been life changing and we will be forever grateful.
The entire Gentiva Hospice team was wonderful. My dad loved them all. Their guidance was quite helpful for our family. My mother was in hospice many years ago and I can say it has improved 100% over the years.
I see all prior reviews has been erased - my elderly parent has been with this hospice for many months ... I feel they do not respect family members concerns ... they say they are 'there for beloved & you (family) , but they suddenly stop communication & I spend hours trying to get thru what I can only describe as thick skulls!! Also feel they do not take our concerns seriously ! I'm repeatedly being told different stories! And worse a nurse put in notes they spoke to me this past week when I've not heard a word from anyone from there for weeks! This all causes so much more stress to the family , not feeling heard or understood , not contacted but stating they are in touch is deceptive ! It's hard enough to deal with slowly losing a loved one - the patient cannot always give accurate info & if family is ignored or concerns not address then potential for lack of treatment or insufficient treatment is likely .
I'm sorry to have to post a negative review but I feel people should know what they are getting. Avalon was ordered by my mother's pulmonologist because she is at stage 4 of COPD. We didn't realize we could have shopped around for a hospice provider so we signed with Avalon. Mom's pulmonologist will be getting a call from me after I post this. Avalon was unorganized and short staffed from what I could tell. One nurse left off the medication list for the pharmacy one of my mother's medications that is extremely important. The medication was a high dose of antidepressant that should never be stopped suddenly (cold turkey), but that is what happened to my poor mother. I noticed a sudden change in her personality and cognitive ability but didn't know why. I was told by hospice it was just the progression of the COPD. Also, I text another nurse at hospice to tell her that my mother was having signs of a UTI and that I felt like she needed to be started on an antibiotic or someone to come out and do a test but she told me to tell her to drink more water. Well she ended up going to the emergency room where she was started on IV antibiotics for a serious UTI. Avalon discharged her which is the BEST thing that could have happened because we have now found a new and better hospice group. Hospice is hard enough to handle but this experience with Avalon has been almost unbearable.
Thank you for giving us Tim Brasher's back, it's been a pure blessing. Now if we can get the doctor to listen to what helps his pain, we can go to 5 Stars. No more morphine increase.
10/10 would recommend this place, Great Staff that we're extremely knowledgeable and kind.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
