Great guy, doesnt have the overbearing attitude of some doctors.
Dr. McCourtie did my gallbladder removal recently. He explained the procedure before hand and was very concerned for my comfort and well being. I was nursing an infant at the time and he went out of his way to find out information for me and make me feel comfortable and help ease my fears. His bedside manner was great and I was lucky he was the surgeon working when I had my emergency. Another dr. said that I could wait to have the surgery, but after being examined by Dr. McCourtie, he determined the operation needed to be done now. It turned out he was right and I had stones in ducts blocking my liver. The incisions are small and I am recovering well. I am so grateful for his skills as physician and concern for my feelings. I would highly recommend him to a friend or family member.
Dr. McCourtie cares more about healing people than making money! Spent considerable time with me before and after surgery, and went the extra mile to explain thoroughly all options, possibilities and potential problems. All my questions were thoroughly answered and I am very comfortable recommending him.
I am a male in my fifties and this poor excuse for a doctor is the absolute worst that I have ever run into. In general, the physicians at the university of washington medical centers are EXCELLENT in every way. And the nurses and staff are unparalleled. But this absolutely dreadfull little blind man is the great exception to them all. Pushy, deaf to patient concerns, and completely dishonest, he should have NO access to patients in need of actual care. He is a disgrace to his profession.
