Using AI agent for all calls now. There is no way to connect to a person, instead they ask you to leave a voice mail and claim they will return call next business day. It is already annoying to have no access to anyone on the phone, but there is no way to even leave a voicemail to a specific clinic, much less a specific practitioner. Not safe, although I get the feeling they are steering away from general dermatology anyways.
I was a longtime patient, but California Skin Institute has changed for the worse following their sale to Schweiger. The quality of care is not the same, waits are longer, and any billing/administrative questions are routed to an overseas call center. What finally did it for me was when I had two biopsies done as part of a regular skin check up; I received a copy of the lab results directly from the lab, but my Schweiger doctor never followed up with any interpretation of these results and what it meant for my health. I only got an assessment three months later after I had to proactively reach out to the office (in which they said one of the spots was worth a follow up!!). And of course they still charged full price right away, even when they had not actually completed the service of analyzing the biospy results.
Nikki Melet PA-C, was very personable, kind, and provided great care
Refused to look at skin. Period. COMPLETELY REFUSED TO LOOK AT SKIN IN THE SLIGHTEST. Horrible, horrible lack of care for an extremely difficult case of eczema. Complete disregard for patients. Doctor Kumar was in for 60 seconds flat and wouldn’t even look at pictures of the flare-ups and kept writing off the severe, full body eczema as a “rash”. Whoever that Kate woman is seemingly awful to both colleagues and patients, entirely unprofessional as she wrote off any concerns we had with treatment options in such a way that made her patient feel stupid. Genuinely looking into filing a complaint with the government because of this incompetence and lack of care is absolutely unacceptable.
Staff, process, action. Impressed by how organized they are.. I took care of a couple issues during my first consultation instead of having to come back multiple times which I'll need to do anyways but happy to get the ball rolling on the spot. Hand off from assistant to Dr back to assistant was great! And I liked that the Dr. presented a few options for my specific needs.
Dr. Nadhan is incredible. This man is qualified, takes his time, explains everything and really felt like he cared. It’s hard to find a good dermatologist in the city. A lot are very lackluster - beyond excited to be working with an incredible doctor like this.
Perfect
Nikki is the best! She is thorough, knowledgeable, and a joy to be acquainted with. I have gone to her for years and have no reason to go elsewhere.
Had a bad experience with billing. Misbilled and there's no way to talk to anyone besides a 3rd party billing service.
these guys are trying to save money by using AI and the result is the Worst example of customer service. It’s like McDonalds now - shitty - run through as many patients as possible bad, incorrect billing. Inaccurate data, can’t track insurance. everything is a mess. Do NOT recommend till they fix their damn AI bullshit

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
