For 65 years I have been a very healthy man. During the spring of 2020 I could tell something was wrong inside me. It wasn't a pain or real distinguishable discomfort, but something just didn't feel right. After scheduling an appointment with my local doctor, my PSA was slightly elevated at 5.1. After thirty days of antibiotics, my PSA was 8.3. Still not overly concerned, I went to a urologist and made my case for a biopsy. Reluctantly it was scheduled, and I was diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer. Following a bone scan, we learned I had dozens of metastasized tumors on my bones. That is when I called Mayo. Dr. Kwon's team arranged for additional testing and a choline scan, confirming the diagnosis. He arranged for my chemotherapy with Dr. Vladimir Hugec. After six chemotherapy infusions, all of my tumors were gone and I am cancer free. I owe my life to the exceptional care of Mayo Clinic, Dr. Kwon and Dr. Hugec, for which I will be eternally grateful!
