JACOBO A CRUZ

I highly recommend the offices of Jacob A Cruz. The lady who answers the phone there (Brenda) is an absolute SAINT! She's so sweet, she made me feel cared for after trying all day, calling around to get an appointment. She said that it's just her in the office but she tries her best to get back with patients, the treatment I received was night and day in comparison to some of the other places I tried to contact. Most importantly my appointment is within the month! For anyone trying to get an appointment with a Tricare referral, I highly recommend them! Update: I have been an ongoing patient of Dr. Cruz for over a year now and my initial impression has not been altered. I recently learned that they accept Tricare Prime so I will be sticking with my treatment even after the conclusion of my military service

I love Dr. Cruz! I have been with him for 4 years. I like how he ignores what previous psychiatrists have diagnosed me with and let's me tell my life story. I told him once that I can't have meds that have weight gain or insomnia as side effects and he listened and remembers. I have been through so many different meds and unlike past psychiatrists who would tell me they don't have anything else to prescribe he has always been patient with me. I have probably been prescribed over 15 meds by him. They work for awhile then I start to get a side effect. Dr. Cruz is an amazing psychiatrist. Brenda is nice. I one time missed my appointment even though she called me the day before to remind me and she let me come in several hours later just so I wouldn't be charged for the session. I highly recommend this psychiatrist!

Dr Cruz has been wonderful to me as has Miss Brenda. They are always kind and helpful when I call. I never wait long to see Dr Cruz either. If I have an emergency they get me right in. I think the world of both of them.

Dr. Cruz is a truly gifted practitioner - he has what cannot be taught or learned in a formal education. Raw knowledge, anyone can gain by a fine education but Dr. Cruz has the innate character of a compassionate humanitarian caregiver which cannot be said of all professionals in this field. Having bumped into more than a few during my painful 40+ year struggle, I speak from direct experience. Fortunately for myself and other patients, Dr. Cruz uses his life long pursuit of gaining further understanding & knowledge by filtering it through what is an exceptional and importantly autonomous intelligence, tempered by common sense and real life experience. It has made all the difference to me and I often think of how lucky I am to have such a brilliant, humble, compassionate doctor as part of my brain health care and treatment team. Thank you, so very much Brenda for getting me on the schedule and all you do is appreciated and noticed.

In 2014 - 2015 I consulted Dr. Cruz for severe depression. He recommended electro-convulsive therapy (ECT). He performed ECT under general anesthesia in a hospital setting. I felt no pain during the procedure. Woke up in the recovery room. Was driven home by family member. After 3 ECT treatments I am fine. Dr. Cruz changed my meds. I highly recommend Dr. Cruz. He is competent, professional, caring and compassionate.

Great physician with a great professional ethical approach. Makes the patient feel comfortable enough to deal with the medical condition better. The doctor's assistant is very responsible and professional. She returns calls immediately. Dr. Cruz and his assistant make a great team to assist my medical and pharmaceutical needs. 👍

Dr. Cruz is the only genuinely nice psychiatrist. I was hesitant at first meeting when i learned he doesn't look at your past psych evals. i let my frustration out in his office about medication not working, week after week, Dr. Cruz remaining patient all the while and truly listening to my concerns of certain side effects. I highly recommend Dr. Cruz~

Great doctor and great staff!!

This doctor is amazing as he is knowledgeable in so many other fields than his specialization. His front office staff is excellent, considerate and on point. The wait is never bad and they will do anything to help as long as you do everything asked of you (which is always reasonable). I truly believe that seeing Dr Cruz saved my life.
