I had seen a NP at Forefront Dermatology in Fishersville, VA for the past 2 months. She diagnosed that I had eczema, but nothing she suggested or was treating me with was working for the severe itching I had. On my last visit she said I needed to start shots of Dupixent every 4 weeks & the shots cost $4,000 each. I decided with having no relief from the severe itching that I needed to go for a second opinion at another dermatologist, which was Dr Lynch at Shenandoah Dermatology. Within minutes of examination, she said I did not have eczema but psoriasis, so I was misdiagnosed by Forefront Dermatology’s NP. Dr Lynch said my psoriasis was treatable by Otzela; within a few days of taking this medication the severe itching has subsided. I called Forefront Dermatology regarding their NP’s misdiagnosis of eczema when I actually had psoriasis, but in almost a week no response from them. Thank goodness Dr. Lynch was able to see me.
