I started noticing a back injury October 30, 2020. I tried chiropractic treatment, and got little relief. Thanksgiving 2020 came around, and I was wrestling with the nephews... The next day, I could hardly walk... I ended up in the ER and following up with CMG the following day. Dr. Joseph Lajoie responded to my medical question sent to the practice. I explained that I was in the worst pain that I ever experienced; I also needed to tell him that I was in long term recovery from opiates. We tried several different medications via orally and intramuscular injections. I started physical therapy immediately with the direction of the doctor. My pain remained sever. We learned that I had a significant herniated disk, which needed surgery. Dr. Lajoie provided me an excellent referral. My pain remained sever. I was eventually prescribed a fast acting synthetic opiate. The pain decreased. Throughout this entire process, I followed up with the doctor, and made sure that I was not abusing the medication. Dr. Lajoie was always there for me. I have been off opiates for nearly two weeks. My pain is non existing and my cravings for pain medication is minimal. As a recovering opiate addict, I was scared how my body and mind would react once consumption was complete. Accountability and honesty was a significant pillar to my success. Thanks Dr. Lajoie, I couldn't imagine doing this without you.

Definetly deserves more than a 5 star rating! Dr. Joseph Lajoie is a very compassionate and understanding down to earth Family Physician. He's a very professional, supportive, excellent, caring and knowledgeable Physician. You will be treated as a "patient" and not just a "number"! Dr. Joseph Lajoie handles himself professionally. He treats his patients and family with the utmost respects. He takes the time to listen to any concerns you may have. He genuinely cares about you "his patient"! Dr. Joseph Lajoie continues to do hospital rounds to provide continuity of care to his patients that are admitted into the hospital he is affiliated with.. In which is unheard of for a Family Physician and proves his exceptional care he continues to provide. My only regret was not switching to him sooner for mine and my families Family Physician. He has earned our trust as his patient's. I am forever grateful for the Physician out of St. Joseph Mercy Oakland who referred me to Dr. Joseph Lajoie.
