I've been struggling with a bulging disc and sciatica pain radiating down my leg for almost a year now. At times, it was so painful I couldn't even walk more than a block, and getting a full night's sleep was impossible with the pain.
At first I tried Spear for physical therapy—my first time in PT ever—and it just wasn't for me. While my care was okay, it reminded me of my college gym—a place for athletes (not me) that felt sort of clique-y.
After a few months, I switched to Park Sports PT, and oh my god, night and day difference. My PT, Megan, and I immediately started talking about musicals and I could tell the vibe was so much more welcoming. I also noticed how much more carefully she watched my form while exercising, and gave me corrections. She also gave me manual treatments (Theragun and soft tissue massage), which my previous PT had never done and has made a big difference in how much I'm able to accomplish during my appointments.
It's been almost five months now since starting at Park Sports, and I'm doing so much better—I'm a few weeks from graduating! I couldn't recommend the team more, not only Megan but the whole team (shout out to Amelia, Tyra, Taden, Ellis, and Emanuel!). Not only was my physical therapy itself excellent, but they helped guide me through two epidural steroid injections and are helping me with a game plan for what's next when I graduate. Truly a 10/10 experience!
