I never write reviews, but after seeing these negative reviews about Sunrise, I had to put my two cents in. Sunrise is hands down the best detox facility I have ever been to. I stayed at Sunrise for a little over a month and it helped me so much more than any other facility I have ever been in. I truly believe that they are the reason I am still here today. I came here straight after spending 11 days in a state facility and I didn’t feel human anymore. As soon as I got there, Tony took me back for intake, and he was so nice and laid back that he put me completely at ease after my 11 day nightmare. Intake was relatively quick, and I was walked back to my room and I took my first shower in almost two weeks, and I slowly started to feel like a human being again. The rooms and bathrooms are fantastic, by the way. They are clean and bright, and they offer clean-up service every morning. I came here the day before my birthday and all I could think about was,”I want honeydew melon for my birthday”. Guess what they had for breakfast the next morning? Waffles and bacon, too. And my roommate and three other patients came in the evening of my birthday(I was in bed for most of my first week there)and sang happy birthday to me and they gave me a handmade card, a bouquet made of twigs and berries, and a Hershey’s bar. It was so sweet that it made me cry(withdrawal will do that to you). All of the nurses and tech’s are very good at what they do. They never once forgot my name. Their staff psychiatrist got me on a med combo that actually made me better, first time that has happened for me. I am still on the same meds today. Carly was a great counselor. I was dealing with a lot, and she helped me feel strong enough to handle it. Julie was the sweetest nurse tech I have ever encountered. The food was really good, too. And the snacks- I think I ate about four ice creams a night. They also have a small fridge with extra helpings of whatever dish they made for lunch and dinner. I spent most of my time on the patio(smoking)talking to other patients. I saw several people cry, I saw lots of people hug. I went through four cycles of patients because I was there for so long, and I made friends in every cycle. I still think about them and I still talk to a few. Sunrise was a springboard to my recovery and I’m still sober today. This is the best detox facility in Georgia in my opinion.
