So I don’t leave reviews often but considering the damage I have to my skin I feel like I should speak up. I was prescribed products that I have used in the past that have worked for my skin. Then I used this gentler retinoid that I was recommended before in the past enstead of the retinoid I used to use. My current dermatologist at this clinic gave the green light and it was prescribed as well. Unfortunately it worsened my acne over time while the derm kept telling me my skin quality looked better. By the time my skin looked severely broken out I was told to move on to Acutane when I didn’t need it before. I felt the experience was overall negligent and the doctor put no effort into checking why this reaction happened and prescribed the strongest medication without doing their due diligence to understand what was happening.
I was held for an hour with no help from Karima or her team due to a billing issue. They won’t see you if you have a balance - despite the fact they had a record that already paid the balance. Never come here for anything elective. Spend your money where you’ll be treated better.
Excellent and friendly staff my daughter’s doctor. Is amazing. Dr kennnedy. We love her.
I saw Dr. Buka for a cat bite, and he expressed concern a spot on my other arm and asked to biopsy it; which he did. it came back negative. I'm on Medicare which covers 80% and a secondary insurance which pays after Medicare submits to them. I usually have a $20 co-pay for the office visit. According to the laws and regulations of Medicare, if a physician accepts assignment, they must abide by those regulation. Both Medicare and my secondary insurance paid them, but the dermatologist is sending me a bill for the remainder, saying it's my responsibility. I told billing that they can't ask for payment from the patien, except for a co-pay, but they told me to dispute it with Medicare. I had already confirmed with Medicare that the doctor couldn't bill me. Another time, I had Botox, which I paid $300 out of pocket. The doctor submitted an office visit bill to Medicare, which is apparently legal, and then billed me a co-pay of $20!!! Dermotology Specialists is simply a money making machine, disregarding Medicare rules and double-dipping. Find yourself a dermatologist that plays by the rules!!!
Staff in this place are very welcoming and helpful. Love coming to appointments here.
Dr Kristen is amazing!!! She was very attentive to my situation and showed a great deal of understanding and empathy. The medical assistant( I believe her name was Jade, with curly hair..??) Was also very helpful and accommodating. Both have reassured me every visit and I leave feeling at ease. I cant thank you enough! If you want exceptional and helpful, go see Dr Kristin!! The front desk also has great customer service and mannerism. That is always appreciated! I would say the wait time there is a bit long but the last couple visits I have been seen promptly. Each day is different depending on the traffic of visit.
I believe you have individuals within the company who are frauds. Charging customers for services not rendered is fraud. At first I thought it was just an error, a simple mistake, but after notifying your accounting department at both your Brooklyn & Manhattan offices of the situation and billing error, your company refused to rectify the situation. So my family are no longer clients and I'm going to recommend to everyone I know (and online) to not use your services.
Do NOT come to these guys. nothing wrong with their staff but their billing system is an absolute disaster. they keep changing billing services every 10 seconds and any outstanding bills you have with them will get lost in the fold and they’ll keep trying to charge you more while making you do all the legwork to prove the accurate balance.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
