Texas Oncology in Plano has excellent staff and facilities. Very patient oriented.

TX Oncology is incredible. Nihar Patel is a doctor who cares more about his patients then any doctor I've ever met. His staff reflects his high standards, is responsive and proactive. I am still on the roster at MD Anderson but love that Dr Patel will listen to their protocols/trials/studies and uses them to my benefit. The nurses in the infustion room could not be more loving, gentle and kind while demonstrating their expert skills. Everyone at TX Oncology believes in Hope and after months of continuing therapy and visits, I do too.

Reps call and over talk you when asking questions and make it difficult to get the help you need in a timely manner. They only want to schedule and bill you to the max but any questions or concerns are met with aggression. The staff seem to be highly stressed in the way that they interact with patients. I could hear the rep sigh heavily intentionally and make loud noises while I spoke to her. It became evident that she did not want to hear me talk and intentionally made my experience unpleasant. I would not recommend this location unless you need help direly but even then I would seek treatment elsewhere.

My mom has been under the continuous care of Dr. Darren Kocs at Texas Oncology for the past 3 years and she feels very fortunate to be receiving treatment from him and his wonderful team during this difficult journey. His patience with answering our questions and his sense of humor helps put us at ease. We really feel that my mom is in great hands with Dr. Kocs and his team.

I have nothing but good things to say about Texas Oncology. Dr Colton has been incredible as are the nurses and infusion team. I moved here from Philadelphia and was used to an incredible team at the Abrahamson Cancer Center. I was worried I wouldn’t get the same level of care, but my feats were put to rest.

Became a patient December of 2024. Recently moved from different state before my diagnosis, so I knew nothing of any doctors in area. Pure luck to land with Dr Barman, but he’s truly a god send. My treatment can be complicated by other health issues, but I have gotten nothing but excellent care. Every specialist he’s recommended from pulmonologist to cardio thoracic surgeon has been as competent as Dr Barman. I sometimes have a wait, but I realize he’s probably giving someone else the same level of care, concern and listening that he does me when a PET/CT comes back and you have a million questions. So I’m never really upset about it. Also want to point out that everyone-scheduling and referrals, front desk, infusion lab etc have been just as helpful and competent. Lastly, a huge shout out to Dr Hermann and radiation oncology. Another example of professionalism, caring and competency. I’m lucky to have found this group of outstanding professionals.

I have continued to try to speak with people at Texas Oncology. Once again my complaints and requests for a dialogue have fallen upon deaf ears. Whenever I push to speak with somebody, they always promise somebody will be back in touch and nobody ever does. It is incredibly frustrating, but it reminds me of how I was treated while under their 'care' (I am using that term loosely). But I guess there is no reason for them to contact me since there is no money in it for them. I was just another damn cancer patient with an insurance company you could bill for thousands of dollars.

A joke the people at the front won't transfer you to scheduling but scheduling tells you that you can speak with them directly.

Would not recommend Texas Oncology to anyone. My doctor puts in an order for chemo 3 weeks out, I try to follow up. They inform me the day before that there are no openings. They've messed up everything they've tried to schedule, from lab work to chemo infusions. In addition to some treatment issues I no longer have confidence in my care here. Mentioning that I went to the Austin/North location seems irrelevant. Because after reading so many bad reviews I conclude that all locations have bad problems.

Texas Oncology in Midland is wonderful, I highly recommend them.
